KinderGym Programs

Little Tots

The little Tots program for 18 months - 4 years olds is offered for competent walkers and consists of a structured gymnastic environment with an emphasis on following instructions and extensive use of the equipment for movement based physical activity. Children participating in Little Tots need an adult to accompany them on the gym floor at all times.
Pre-Schoolers
Pre-Schoolers for 4 - 5 years is a stepping stone from Little Tots to our recreational program. Children may also join this program who are new to the sport. Parents take a step back and watch as their children develop balance, coordination and spatial awareness, as well as learning gymnastics skills appropriate to their age and physical development. The emphasis is very much on all children having fun and building confidence while being active.
In Pre-Schoolers we introduce the concept of lining up and waiting for a turn and use circuits for developing skills and for structured play. Children in this program will progress to recreational classes when they go to school.

Recreational Programs

Gymstar

This program is endorsed by Gymnastics Victoria and is a progressive program comprising of 10 levels. The Gymstar program replaces our previous recreational program and opens up pathways for all gymnasts, allowing for individual progression through the levels. In Gymstar, children will develop skills on the floor, beam, vault, bars, rings and parallel bars.

DanceGym

Our DanceGym program has grown in popularity over the last 12 months and combines the floor based elements of gymnastics with the latest dance moves. It is for both boys and girls. The children learn choreographed routines or varying dance styles, incorporating gymnastics skills that they will also develop throughout the term. DanceGym is for 5-12 year olds

FreeG

Influenced by the traditionally street based program 'Parkour', FreeG is aimed at children from 6-17 years. FreeG captures the power and explosive nature of freestyle, fusing gymnastics and acrobatics with kicks and leaps. This program will challenge those who participate and is open to those that have never been apart of the sport as well as those continuing. Junior FreeG is for 6-9-year-olds, and Senior FreeG for 10-year-olds and over.

Tumbling

Our Tumbling program is designed to teach round offs, handsprings, walkovers, back flips, ariels and somersaults. Enrolment into this program is subject to an initial skills assessment. This is a fantastic program if you are looking for that 'WOW' factor to add into your dance or cheerleading routine.

Beginner Tumble is for those with beginner-level tumble ability or those with an interest in learning new skills.

Advanced Tumble is invite only, for those with higher-level tumble ability and would like to improve pre-existing skills.

Adult Gym

Learn some new skills, increase fitness, and tone muscles with this total body workout. For those over the age of 16, we welcome ex gymnasts, those who have dabbled in the sport over the years and people who want to try something new. It's never too late to learn gymnastics! No complete-commitment is required with our AdultGym session passes, come along at any stage throughout the term and discuss options with us.

GymAbility - Recreational gymnastics for children with a disability

Recreational gymnastics for children with a disability is for children aged 5 - 12 years. Our program is designed for children who are low functioning, both mentally and/or physically. The program runs similar to the recreational program but is modified to best cater for participants.

Competitive Programs

Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG)

Participants are selected for this program as a result of their gymnastic ability, and often quick progression through the recreational programs. Participating in a competitive program involves an increase in training hours to focus on correct technique, body shapes and specialisation on specific pieces of apparatus.

Children selected for the competitive stream demonstrate natural talent and are therefore offered a range of opportunities to develop their skills and abilities. We have programs for children 6 years upwards with the training hours ranging from 10 hours per week through to 20 hours per week. Competitive training is all year around, with participants having the opportunity to represent Flyaway Gymnastics by competing across the state and at a national level.

WAG Development

Our WAG development program is invite only, and is aimed at preparing gymnasts for our WAG competitive program.

TeamGym

Flyaway offers a competitive TeamGym program. Participants develop skills and routines on floor, tumble and single mini trampoline. As the name implies, participants work as a team in their routines, which are all to music.
