Pre - Schoolers
The little Tots program for 2 - 4 years olds is offered for competent walkers and consists of a structured gymnastic environment with an emphasis on following instructions and extensive use of the equipment for movement based physical activity. Children participating in Little Tots need an adult to accompany them on the gym floor at all times.
Pre-Schoolers for 4 - 5 years is a stepping stone from Little Tots to our recreational program. Children may also join this program who are new to the sport. Parents take a step back and watch as their children develop balance, coordination and spatial awareness, as well as learning gymnastics skills appropriate to their age and physical development. The emphasis is very much on all children having fun and building confidence while being active. In Pre-Schoolers we introduce the concept of lining up and waiting for a turn and use circuits for developing skills and for structured play. Children in this program will progress to recreational classes when they go to school.
Recreational classes are for children aged 5 - 9 years who are new to the sport of gymnastics or who have made the transition from kindergym. Motivators for participation tend to be a combination of an interest in gymnastics, fun, fitness, motor skill development or a social outlet. Recreational participants follow a structured development program designed to increase their skill level, flexibility, strength and coordination over the term. At the end of the term all recreational gymnasts will participate in skills testing to see if they have the skills set required to progress to advanced recreational gymnastics. Classes are one hour in duration.
Advanced Recreational classes are for boys and girls who have met the skill requirements of the recreational program and who are ready to move on to something a little more challenging. Participation is by invitation or assessment only. The emphasis is still very much around having fun and social interaction, but the program offers progression and further skill development for those who want to progress in the sport and take their gymnastics to the next level.
Following on from the Advanced Recreational program, Level 1 and Level 2 are the next steps on our junior gymnasts, gymnastics pathway. These programs are for both boys and girls. Participants invited to join following their assessment in the Advanced Recreational and level 1 programs.
As the name implies, this program is for older boys and girls wanting to do gymnastics. Children between the ages of 9 and 16 years can expect a fun filled program which uses all apparatus including floor, bars, vault, beam, rings and trampolines. Progression and skill development within the program is based on each child's own abilities, and the coaches will plan programs which offers something for everyone. All children enrolled in the teen program will take part in testing at the end of the term to determine the most appropriate gymnast pathway moving forward.

Our Dance Gym program has grown in popularity over the last 12 months and combines the floor based elements of gymnastics with the latest dance moves. It is for both boys and girls. The children learn choreographed routines or varying dance styles, incorporating gymnastics skills that they will also develop throughout the term. Junior Dance Gym is for children 5 - 9 years and senior Dance Gym is for 10 - 16 year olds.

Levels 3 +
Participants are selected for this program as a result of their gymnastic ability, and often quick progression through the recreational programs. Undertaking competitive programs involves an increase in training hours to focus on correct technique, body shapes and specialization on specific pieces of apparatus.
Children selected for the competitive stream demonstrate natural talent and are therefore offered a range of opportunities to develop their skills and abilities. We have programs for children 4 years upwards with the training hours ranging from 2 hours per week through to 20 hours per week. Competitive training is all year around however these participants have the opportunity to represent Flyaway Gymnastics by competing across the state and at a national level.
